Economic and Social Geography is a branch of human geography that studies the spatial organization of economic and social activities, as well as the relationships between society, economy and territory. It examines the distribution of productive activities, trade, services, employment and population, seeking to understand how economic processes influence social structures and territorial development. It also analyses regional inequalities, urban and rural transformations, globalization and the challenges of sustainable development. Its main objective is to understand the interactions between economic activities and social dynamics in the production and transformation of geographical space
