Resumo
The OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook 2026–2035 examines the prospects for global agricultural commodity and aquatic food markets over the next decade. Published jointly by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the report analyses projected trends in agricultural production, consumption, prices, trade, and productivity at global, regional, and national levels. It highlights the role of technological innovation and productivity improvements in meeting growing food demand, while addressing challenges related to climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, market volatility, and agricultural income disparities. The report also explores changing consumption patterns, particularly the increasing demand for animal-source foods in middle-income countries. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of international trade, effective agricultural policies, and sustainable production systems in strengthening food security and improving the resilience of agrifood systems. The publication provides evidence to support policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders in planning for sustainable agricultural development.
