Urban Geography is a branch of human geography that studies the origin, development, structure and organization of cities and urban spaces. It examines urban growth, population distribution, land use, housing, mobility, infrastructure, urban services and socioeconomic inequalities. It also analyses the relationships between urban society, economic activities and the environment, highlighting the challenges of urbanization, urban planning and sustainable development. The study of Urban Geography contributes to understanding the transformations of cities and the social, economic, political and environmental processes that shape contemporary urban spaces.
