The morphology of roots in seed plants is an important topic in Botany, focusing on the external structure, organization, and characteristics of roots. Roots play essential roles in anchoring plants to the soil, absorbing water and mineral nutrients, and, in some species, storing reserve substances. The study of root morphology helps identify the different root regions, types, and adaptations, contributing to a better understanding of plant growth, development, and diversity. This subject is fundamental to the study of seed plants (spermatophytes) and their adaptation to different environmental conditions.
