The article develops the reflection on the forms of governments indicated
by Aristotle and the mixed form of government in the molds thought by
Polybius, in view of the application of the distributive justice of Aristotle in the
modernity. Norberto Bobbio, in his course on Forms of Government, emphasizes
the importance of Aristotle in defining the forms of government and that
only the good forms, thought by Aristotle and the mixed form of government,
according to Polybius, have application in modernity. According to Bobbio,
in Aristotle, there is a connection between politics (forms of government) and
law (theory of justice). It happens, however, that in modern times, justice, especially
distributive justice, is more adequate to the Social Democratic State than
to the Liberal Social State.
