Resumodc.description.abstractThis report presents the baseline assessment of Mozambique’s Nutrition Intervention Package (NIP), which aims to improve maternal and child nutrition, particularly among vulnerable populations in regions with a high prevalence of child stunting. The report examines the context of child undernutrition in Mozambique and the implementation of nutrition interventions through the health system and community-based services. It focuses on strengthening the capacity of health personnel and service delivery systems to provide appropriate nutrition counselling and support to children under five and their mothers or caregivers. The baseline assessment provides information to support the evaluation of the intervention model and to inform efforts to improve nutrition services and address child stunting and micronutrient deficiencies in Mozambique.
